WELCOME TO SRAMANA
Sramana is a unique all year round Self Healing Retreat set in Queensland Australia’s oldest living rainforest.
Self healing is the practice of becoming self attentive to our real needs; as our awareness is initiated, harmonious tendencies arise and we realise the happiness within, which is our own true nature.
Simply allocate time to relax at our peaceful raw food vegan sanctuary, and let nature do the rest.
Visitors stay in our one bedroom Garden Cottage, which can accommodate one or two people in twin beds, with a small lounge room and guest kitchen. A separate bathroom is provided.
SRAMANA PROGRAMS
We currently offer two programs, the first being the short stay Sramana Retreat program for guests seeking a natural and intimate opportunity for rest and rejuvenation.
The second program is our Karma Escape that enables self-catered casual volunteers to share their skills while gathering knowledge of the raw food vegan way.
Both programs include food and accommodation, while the Sramana Retreat gives access to yoga, meditation, breath-work and delicious raw food meals.

SRAMANA IN FAIRYLAND
The spiritual home of Sramana is a small tropical retreat in a beautiful, secluded garden setting located in the Fairyland Road in rural Kuranda.
Wake up to the sounds of singing birds, watch wallabies hopping around, and bush turkeys roaming in our garden, feel refreshed with tropical fruits and simply rest, away from the distractions of the world.
The first fruit tree plantings commenced in 2014, with the establishment of around 35 fruit trees. The number of fruit trees has expanded to over two hundred now, with over 30 species supplemented by companion plants.
RAW VEGAN FOOD EXPERIENCE
We provide quality raw vegan produce and prepare meals from locally sourced plant foods, supplemented with a small selection from our garden.
Whether you are just starting your vegan adventure, seeking a peaceful place to rest and detox, or satisfying your curiosity by immersing yourself in a ‘raw food lifestyle’ experience, you will likely feel at home with us right away.

Kuranda, the Village in the Rainforest, is just 25 km northwest of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia. This picturesque village retreat is surrounded by the world’s oldest living tropical rainforest.
